The body fires first
Your nervous system can start the fight before your thinking brain finishes the sentence. Logic alone cannot repair what the body reads as danger.
Monument Method Institute
In one focused 90-minute session, Gaylen and Heather Wilson help you see the pattern underneath the conflict—and practice a way to turn toward each other before another argument tears something down.
Both partners attend · Private video session · Practical, direct, and judgment-free

Fiercely Protect the Monument
The subject changes—money, sex, chores, family, attention—but the emotional choreography stays the same. One person reaches or protests. The other defends, shuts down, or pulls away. Then both feel alone.
Your nervous system can start the fight before your thinking brain finishes the sentence. Logic alone cannot repair what the body reads as danger.
You can prove your point and still damage the relationship. The Monument Method gives the bond authority over either partner’s need to be right.
Love is not the problem. The missing piece is a reliable action both of you can use while the hard moment is actually happening.
You will learn a simple interruption-and-repair practice built around attachment, nervous-system awareness, eye contact, embrace, and one sacred word that means: the relationship matters more than this fight.
“The relationship matters more than our egos—and more than winning the fight.”Fiercely Protect the Monument
They did not build this method from a perfect marriage. They built it through 24 real years together—including addiction recovery, Gaylen’s near-death heart failure and 2018 transplant, fear, repair, and the daily choice to keep turning toward each other.
This is not a lecture and it is not an argument with referees. Gaylen and Heather help both of you name the cycle, slow it down, understand what each partner is protecting, and rehearse a different move together.
See why the bond has to become bigger than either ego in the hard moment.
Read before the call to arrive with a shared language, or use the books afterward to keep practicing at home.

Yes. The Quick Start is built around a shared agreement and a practice you do together, so both partners should be present for the full session.
No. This is educational relationship coaching focused on understanding a conflict cycle and practicing the Monument Method. It does not diagnose or treat mental-health conditions and is not a replacement for licensed therapy, medical care, or crisis services.
You do not have to arrive convinced. You do need to arrive willing to be honest, listen, and try the practice. Gaylen and Heather know how to work with direct people who do not want jargon or blame.
This session is not appropriate for immediate danger, active violence, or crisis stabilization. Use local emergency or crisis resources first and seek appropriately licensed support.
You do not have to solve the whole relationship today. You only have to decide that the bond deserves a different next move.
